The irrigation pressure reduction standard protocol reduces pump size or speed to efficiently meet pressure requirments when existing pump is oversized for the irrigation system. Inefficient alternatives use mechanical controls (throttle valve or return loop) to add artificial head or flow to the pump. Energyv savings are due to reduced hydaulic work through pressure reduction.
The intent is that the savings calculated using this protocol may be added to savings from the existing irrigation UESs (Maintenance & Upgrades).
